What rent costs

Brightside is not free housing. Participants pay rent, and rent is based on a percentage of your monthly income, so what you pay reflects what you’re earning.

Your first 30 days are different. Most people arrive before they’ve found work, so rent for that first month is postponed, not waived — the balance is spread across the rest of your stay so it never comes due all at once. It is written into your participant agreement when you move in.

What you pay for housing has nothing to do with clinical care. Brightside Living Group is also a licensed outpatient provider, but you are never required to use our services to live here. You may keep your current therapist, choose any provider, or use no clinical services at all — your housing and your rent are unaffected either way.

Household chores are a shared living responsibility, not work performed for Brightside, and they do not earn rent credit.
